1. Overview

Permission Trail is a browser extension designed to help users view, manage, and revoke locally stored website data such as cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, and related browser data. Our goal is to provide transparency and user control without compromising privacy.

2. Use of the Service

You may use Permission Trail solely for personal, non-commercial purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You agree not to misuse, redistribute, or modify the extension or any of its components for malicious purposes.

Permission Trail relies on your browser’s APIs to access and manage local data. At no point does the extension access or transmit your private browsing data without consent.

3. Premium Access

The free version of Permission Trail allows users a limited number of revokes. Upgrading to Premium removes this limit and may include access to future features and improvements.

By subscribing to Premium, you agree to recurring payments managed securely via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Stripe customer portal. Premium access continues until the end of your billing period.

4. Data and Privacy

Permission Trail does not collect or sell your personal browsing data. All analysis of cookies, local storage, and related data happens locally on your device.

We assign each user an anonymous ID used to communicate with Supabase, enabling secure features such as account management and the daily tracker graph. Supabase stores minimal, non-personal data — for example, your account ID, username, and daily tracker counts — but never your passwords or browsing history.

By using Permission Trail, you acknowledge that this limited, non-identifiable data storage is required for the service to function properly.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use the Permission Trail extension and for ensuring compliance with any relevant privacy or data protection laws in your region. We are not responsible for any loss of website functionality caused by data deletion initiated by you through the extension.

6. Service Changes

We may update or modify Permission Trail at any time to improve performance, enhance privacy tools, or comply with technical requirements. Premium features and pricing may change with notice.

7. Disclaimer

Permission Trail is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that all browser data will be completely removed, as storage methods can vary by website and browser implementation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Permission Trail and its creators shall not be held liable for any damages, loss of data, or website issues resulting from the use of the extension.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Permission Trail at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or misused the service.
